Awesome thanks. The one I have now freezes alot and drains a cr2 battery in a week of hunting time. I remove battery in between hunts. At $10 a pair its ridiculous.

I have the 440 and the batteries lasted 3 years. Had it for 5 years now and they say it tops the Swavorski and Lieca at 50 yards. Meaning it reads 50 yards the best. I have had no problems with it. The 550 has better viewing at the same 6.

    Dan,
I posted this a while ago but in case you didn't see it, Nikon has their Archer's Choice and Archer's Choice Max Promotion going on for 3 more days. $60 mail in rebate! Granted if you are rifle hunting these would not be the right choice, but for strictly bow
hunting, these will serve you very well. I also remove the batteries at the end of hunting season just to protect the electronice
from any acid leaking. I have a 440 that is probably 6 years old and still works great. Had a 550 as well, loaned it to a buddy
who had it and all his hunting stuff stolen from a motel parking lot. Just got the Riflehunter 1000, my new favorite Rangefinder! The orange LCD screen is great for ealy mornign or late evening distance displays.
