MD buck my good friend Felipe Ordono shot, scored 177 6/8. Felipe is 6'-3" just to put the size of the buck in perspective. He's killed several bucks over 150" with a bow in MD the last 3 years, but this one will be hard to beat. Was one of the biggest bucks Ive ever loaded in a truck thats for sure. Congrats buddy!
Woooooooooweeeeeee! That is a killer buck! My god I would shoot that sucker the second I saw him. No binoculars needed. What a pig! Do you know what he field-dressed? Must have been something outrageous!
Flooper - He's still hanging in the Felipes cold box, will get him to butchers tomorrow and weigh him. We were guessing 220 ish dressed, he was a load to get in the truck. geauxtigers - Central MD, Montgomery
In a nutshell he got a few trail camera pics of the buck about 2 weeks ago in daylight. Waited for the right wind to hunt the buck, hunted one day during a hard moving front/storm that came through and didnt see a thing. Went out Monday afternoon and had 3 bucks come through real late in the afternoon. Shot was made at 25 yards, buck went 40 yards and crashed, but after the crash he heard more crashing running away. He waited, got down, checked his arow, blood but not heavy, so, he decided being as this buck was so big he would back out as a precaution. Ended up the crash he heard was where the buck took his last steps 40 yards away. The other noise he heard must have been the other bucks that stopped when the big boy went down, then decided to continue running a few seconds later, we think. I got a call from an excited hyperventilating friend, classic, wish I could have recorded that, he was so jacked he was still whispering in his truck driving lol. Recovery was made the next morning in 2 minutes, then the calls and pictures started.
That is a monster anywhere Andy! Glad he stayed in the area and it all came together. He looks bigger than the velvet pics, congrats to Felipe!!!
