hey guys, i've been bowhunting for about 5 years now and this year i have really started seriously trying to age and judge the bucks in my area. i am still learning but since he doesn't have much mass i had this guy pegged as a 2.5 year old that is going to be a real stud in the next year or so. what do you guys think?

I'm thinking more like 3.5 on that buck. His neck is pretty darn thick where it meets his chest and his rear end looks pretty well developed also. Rack also seems too big for a 2.5 year old. He's got more mass than you think, that picture just doesn't show that well.

It would help to know where he's from, but I see a lot of big Illinois deer and that would be one helluva 2.5 year old in any woods.
