Nice deer with bad leg!

    This deer has had this bad leg for two years now. I'd say he has been hit by a car and survived. I just wonder why he has no abnormal points. I was always told that they would have abnormal points if they have a injury. image.jpg

    Gruesome. I think that as he gets older some "goofiness" may appear because of the stress from the injury.

    Them long brow tines are abnormal. At least in this area they are. :(

    I wonder if the abnormal growth would only happen during the year of the injury. Would the following years growth be affected as well?

    The reason why he doesn't have a messed up rack is because the leg has completely healed. One of my target bucks "Flame" had the same injury. When his leg was healing, he had a messed up rack. When the leg healed, his rack was normal again.

    You could be right. the first year I ever saw him he had already shed his antlers. So it's hard to say what he looked like the year of the injury.
