Here are a couple bucks that I got pictures of at a new place to hunt. This is only going to be my second season bowhunting and this gets me really excited, especially when they are only 15min from home! It will be great to see how they turn out by Oct. 1st. Thoughts? Thanks for looking! -KSandman
How the hell did you get property up here I'm can't find crap. Nice bucks by the way Sent from my LG-E739 using Tapatalk 2
Only Problem.. The only problem is that in such an agricultural area they seem to really spread out. Every buck I have seen big or small happens on random occasions, there is no pattern. Maybe that will change when we get some colder temps? I don't know, I am still learning and figuring out patterns. I have yet to bring a deer down, I got one 55yd shot off last year hunting unknown territory and of course shot to low. I hope to see these bucks again, I am trying to scout really early just to figure out if there is any movement associated with certain temps/time of day/moon phase. Thanks for checking guys!
Nice bucks man! Our part of the state hold some giants, alot of people say the next state record could come outta the Northern part if IL. Good luck this fall!
Oldcarp... Bow season? Oct 1st-Jan 20th I believe this year. I'll be out on this piece of land at lease every weekend. Michael Pearce, I got land b/c my father is in the crop insurance business and owns about 500 acres himself. I agree though, I talked to a lot of people that said "I already have 3 people hunt my land" seems like every piece of land has someone hunting it. But western Kane county has a lot of food/water and plenty forest preserves/cover. It's looking to be a great year.
There is trophy potential in Kane county for sure. I hear stories from a lot of people seeing monsters crossing the roads in the weee hours of the morning. A guy several years back(I forget his name) killed a 200+ inch monster in your area. You will do well if the other hunters on the land are not sloppy/greedy hunters. Good luck to you this season.
MechDoc: Ya Kane County is looking like it might turn out well this year, now I just gotta get these deer to walk by while I am there. I hunt small 5-10acre tracts of trees surrounded by beans and corn. I think my 2 Kane locations might be awesome this year. Also have a 10acre all wooded area in Lemont that backs up to Cap Sauers and Tampier Slough FP, no cameras out there yet but I expect some beasts to be around there.
