Played a lot of hockey growing up in MN. The guys I played against are almost all retired in their late 30's early 40's. A kid I used to umpire in baseball is still playing for the Preds, Cole Smith. We took my daughter to her first wild game for her birthday a month ago and she was in awe! I'm a wild guy but don't have much dislike for any other teams, I just like watching good hockey. I get down usually for the Minnesota state hockey tournament for a day or two to watch in march. 16 games in 4 days. Places I have watched NHL games, MSG- Rangers New Jersey Toronto Detroit LA
Good stuff, I played since I was 5 and through college. Hockey's my main sport so I also just enjoy good hockey, but the pens are my team I've only been to 2 other arenas other than Pittsburgh... Detroit (old joe louis arena) and Columbus. would be cool to make it into a little quest to go to others.
A guy a year older than me from my high school played 1 NHL game and it was with the pens, had an assist to Malkin. I would absolutely put the MN state hockey tournament on the bucket list for any big time hockey fan. The largest crowd for a hockey game ever at the X (grand casino arena) now was not a wild game but a class AA state high school championship game.
that's awesome, I've played with Austin Lemieux (Mario's son) and against a few other NHLers, Sam lafferty and sonny milano come to mind, fun to see those guys and say you got torched by them lol My HS team won the state championship my freshman year and that's one of my favorite sporting memories, so I cant imagine the MN tourney.. its insane how big of an event it is there, sounds like a blast
Rangers are my team. They have been dreadful this year at home. Since Trochek returned they have been playing better. I started watching hockey in the 90s. Redwings Avalanche battles got me hooked. I miss the goon hockey. Multiple fights and open ice hits. Maybe guys are just more aware now. Wondering when Rempe will be back. I’m sure he has a concussion or some kind of break in his face from his last fight.
Wake me up when the playoffs start. Regular season can not match the intensity of the playoffs, night and day difference.

How about those Wild, they are looking better, not long till the injury bug hits, then they limp along rally late season make the playoffs then lose in the first round. Every Damn Season.
Rangers back to bring the Rangers. Haven’t watched the last 2 games because they are on the west coast. They are getting over around 1am that’s if there’s no overtime.
Yeah those west coast games two hours late, the newspaper doesn't have the score reported the next morning.

oh man being a Pens fan is a struggle right now.... back to back games blowing big leads in the 3rd period.. they should be comfortably in a playoff position, instead of just on the outside right now.
