playoff hockey is one of the most exciting events in all of sports... and I'm just a casual observer...
Well, the Pens, Philly, and Boston have moved on in the east, and the Canucks, Blackhawks, and Sharks moved on in the west. Two game 7's the next two nights, with Detriot and the Caps! fighting to stay in it. That Caps game last night was crazy, Halak made 50 some saves to force a game 7. Good stuff!!!
man, I hope the sharks can take care of the wings, I REALLY don't wanna get past vancouver and play detroit... I think, at this particular moment, they are the team to beat for the cup...
Big game 7 tonight with the Caps and Habs. Hopefully it is a better game 7 then last nights where Detroit pretty much crushed the Yotes. As a Pens fan I wouldn't mind the seeing the mighty Caps go down to the underdog Habs!!
I can't believe that OV and the caps chocked like that! How is it possible that they lost 3 straight games to the Habs, and went 1 for 33 on the power play with all that fire power! The Pens now have home ice through the eastern playoffs after the top 3 teams in the east get knocked off in the opening round. Crazy!
I didn't even see a game In this series but when your out shooting your opponent almost 3 to 1 each game your playing great hockey and out playing your opponent. The difference here Is the Caps ran Into a HOT goalie of the Canadiens. The better team lost but the better goal tender one. My Mn Wild did the same thing 6 to 7 years ago. They were out shot, out played In every aspect of the game besides goal tending. They made It to the Western conference finals and finally lost to the Ducks who went on to win the Cup that year. Hot goalies can take a team a long ways. If he stays hot they'll go far. If he don't they'll be out quickly.
While I was extremely happy to see the Caps tank it, I'm certainly not going to get over confident about beating the Habs. Afterall they did just beat the best team during the regular season. AND if y'all remember game 2, they could have easily had a 2-0 lead on the Caps early in the series and the Caps would never have even seen game 7. My hope is that Halak eventually runs out of magic. Only time will tell.
That was a heart-breaking series for me, Chris ..... You would think I would get used to my team losing ....living in Buffalo an all .....
