We have a family friend that bought a bunch of extra NR bonus points in Maine a few years ago and it worked out for him after 25+ years of applying. We only put in for VT as we have land that usually holds good numbers of moose, including some really good bulls now and again, trespassers (legal) and people we've given permission to have killed a dozen or so in the last 8-10 years. 5 or 6 of our family members have been applying for over 15 years, of all of us my grandfather drew a single tag back in '02 ended up with 16.5 yo 23pt bull, spread was right around 50" cant remember exactly. It is rather frustrating knowing families where every member has drawn a tag over the last 5-10 years, I personally know a guy who has drawn 3, his wife 2, dad 2, son 1, one brother has drawn 2, the other brother drawn 1. Its always such an exciting thing to read the list and see if you've finally been drawn, but no. hopefully my bonus points will finally help me out or minimally someone in the family before we no longer have hunt-able numbers of moose.
