Is Harbaugh a good coach? I don't really pay attention to actual coaching candidates or look into why they are good/bad. I see a lot of people like him (but seems like they are more of a casual fan), and a lot of people hate him.
There is no doubt that he can get teams to win he made it to 3 NFC championship games and a SB when he was with 49'ers. I just don't think he is sustainable he burns people out or burns bridges. Will see.
I thought he did OK in San Fran, he bailed on them to go to Michigan, now bailing on Michigan to go back to the NFL. I'd rather have him as a coach than Saban.
Seems as if our new GM wouldn't hire him if he thought he wasn't going to be "for the team/for the culture." That was one of the biggest reasons why Zimmer was let go I believe. Could be wrong but thought I read that somewhere. It is pretty shady how he has jumped from team to team though.
He lost a power struggle with the GM in San Fran that lead to his departure. KAM as they call him worked with Jim at San Fran.
I think he's a better pro coach, but here is his issue. His antics and constant drama wear on the program, if we would just shut up and coach I think he could succeed. He's been in a Superbowl and has a winning record. From a schematic view, he's really good, it's just his antics.
Sounds like Juju is gone, so must be focusing on keeping the defense in tact or bolstering the O-line or both. While I agree the Rooney's don't do big trades outside of moving up in the draft, they did trade a 1st rounder for Minkah. Tomlin did say all options were on the table for a QB including free agency. Said it before, the next 10 years are going to suck as they try to replace a franchise QB. A lot of talent on both sides of the ball and they'll want paid or want traded/allow to enter free agency.
