Ben is done, not enough time to get in tune with young receivers and no run game. Love the Steelers but they are a 9-7 team at best, at best.
Think I'm done with football this year, Steelers have to be the worst 11-2 team in the history of the league. Ben will be back next year, but without a running back it won't matter.
I don't get it players get very angry and upset about dancing on the mid field logo like it is sacred ground, yet they don't get that people get pissed when they do not stand for the anthem.
I haven’t given up hope on them yet. Ben played like garbage. But I think he can turn it around next week. As far as the rest of the team goes. Without a run game It doesn’t matter how well Ben plays. Conner has two weeks to heal up 100%. and we have some guys who were injured who will be back in the O-line for the playoffs. I’d say we have a fools chance of making it to the championship. This kind of feels like 2006 when we lost 3 in a row and everyone counted us out. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I wish I had your optimism. Ben has had a couple OK games. They have looked like crap ever since the Ten. missed field goal. Conner is not a feature back, not by any stretch of the imagination, he has a few good runs every game or two but he is not an every down back. I wish I could say otherwise, but gone are the days of the Bam Morris, Jerome Bettis, Fumatafala(sp?) and other big down hill runners. Ever since Willie Parker the Steelers have not had that downhill runner typed back. Mendenhall and maybe Deuce Staley were the last attempts at such a back, one was injury prone and the other was just a bit too late into his career. The Steelers need a ground game, period. One dimensional offenses rarely tend to work, and Dan Marino more than anyone can attest to that as far as winning Championships. sure you can win games, but you'll never go anywhere in the post season. When Bush and then Dupree went down, the defense was altered and has never really been the same, they can play fast early, but they tire quickly and opposing offenses take advantage of Butler's schemes. I wish I had more excitement for the playoffs this year, holy hell could it be put to good use bringing in 2021. Steelers need to rest, regroup and come up with a new identity between now and wild card weekend. The current team is going nowhere, home or away.
100% agree. The team has demonstrated over the last 3 weeks that it Cannot run the ball Cannot pass the ball Cannot stop the run Cannot stop the pass Not exactly a winning combo I’ve never thought Conner was that great. But he just has to perform well enough to keep opposing defenses honest. The game against the browns will be the canary in the mineshaft for me. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Colts for me, I'll never put any stock or consideration into a divisional game. 15-0 vs 0-15, record never matters when playing a divisional opponent. They need to come out this week and manhandle the Colts and Rivers. Relentless defensive pressure and show an unsurmountable offense. Lock up the division and rest starters week 17 leaving all the questions to whether or not they have finally adjusted and made use of their talent.
I had some joker at work 2 weeks ago bet me a $100 that the Steelers were going to win the Super Bowl. I took that bet without hesitation. He’s a steelers homer.
Packers could have the number one seed in the NFC and I would not be confident they are so able to come out and play flat, that being said the defense is progressing well.
Hasn't been played yet, odds are against it at this time but that doesn't mean it can't be done. They were the first to win the SB from the 6th seed. They have the means to do it, but they need to have the game plan and consistency to make it happen. Hell, KC is an ACL/MCL from first to worst. Wouldn't wish that on any team, but just stating making any bet right now is as foolish as the other. I'll root for the Steelers to win each and every game they play, I'm a diehard fan, but I will also accept and acknowledge when they are subpar to what they should be.
Really seems a crap shoot this year. Especially in the NFC. I think the two first round byes will be huge this year. Sent from my SM-G981V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
