To the tie, could it be the deciding factor for the 1 seed in the NFC for Green Bay?

    It's time.

It's time for the Tomlin experience to be done in Pittsburgh. The experiment needs to end. He took over an elite team and rode it to a SB win, he has transformed it into an elite roster past their prime. Tomlin has managed to keep mediocre teams cohesive enough to play mediocre football. It's not his choice in player personel that has done it, it's his choice in his supporting coaching staff and allowing mediocrity to continue until it is too late before finding the need to try for change.

Pittsburgh is further away than a QB to becoming a playoff contender. QB's can help a defense by putting points on the board, but they can do nothing in putting a cohesive and consistent defense on the field.

It's time for the rebuild to start, and it has to start with the coaching staff down to field level. If the Rooney's will not do that, maybe it's time they consider selling the team to someone who will. 10 years of rebuilding can't be any worse than another 10 years of this.

The race to the playoffs in the NFC is going to be fun. The tie for the packers means nothing compared to going into Cleveland and laying an egg. The Carolina loss doesn’t seem as bad as the others to me. The Wyatt (#1 dt) injury may be bigger than people realize. A pair of Georgia rookies, one undrafted, will have major roles going forward. Brinson has looked good for a day 3 rookie hopefully he can handle the larger role. If that leaves the packers lacking for run defense those two Chicago games just got a lot tougher. I’m looking forward to Sunday should be a fun game.

I didn't catch it, but multiple reports of it. They even booed when Renegade started up, that should highlight the fruatrations if nothing else does.

Dumb question is Tomlin the GM too? I mean you can only coach the talent you have under contract.

Tomlin is not the GM per sè, but he has a lot of the control in roster/staffing decisions. Colbert took a lot of heat before Khan as GM, Khan gets a lot of praise as current GM for his deal making, but ultimately Tomlin is the deciding factor on who they pursue in FA and the draft.

Tomlin waited out Aiyuk last year at WR and he waited on Rodgers this year. Both which drew a lot of criticism. He pretty much has the GM role without the title, been a lot of talk about how strong his contract is for a headcoach

It was a weird week in the NFL Eagles lose, Rams lose, Colts lose.

    The entire year FWIW

Who would have realistically went into the season saying we would enter December with the Beara amd Patriots atop their conferences? Eagles would be struggling on offense and KC would be scrambling for their lives trying to make it in as a wild card?

I said it earlier this year, I'm actually enjoying that aspect of this season. It's a bit if a refresher to honestly not know who will win the SB, or who the favorite really ia.

One other thing on this season. Like last year I wanted Barkley to break the all time rush yards in a season before the final week, I want the same thing with Garrett and the sack record this year. Break it before the "extra week" is needed. Erase all doubt, and hope Aaron Rodgers, if he's playing, doesn't Favre/Strahan it week 17

It does look like no team will be resting players the last game of the season. I prefer that keep playing hard.

Idea for the Steelrrs next year.

Robert Saleh and Mac Jones/Will Howard. Get a good offensive minded offensive coordinator, let Saleh bring in his own defensive staff.

I could never understand firing a coach when the players are the ones who determine what happens on the field, ballpark or court. Keep the coach and fire the team?

Tomlin I can understand if the people above him are ready for a new voice although I think he is a good coach, but there are people calling for Kevin O’Connell to be fired and I think that’s laughable.

Hire a guy to take over a successful business and run it. When it's not making money or achieving the desired results anymore, fire the crew and tell him to try again, he's doing great, his guys just let him down. Every year he hits it just enough to break even, but never actually profits. Hasn't lost you a penny yet and hasn't made one either, but he's doing great. Just have him get him a new crew until they get it right like it used to be.

Why hire someone to run a business when all you need to do is fire the employees and try again?
