My only problem with Manning vs Brady is its way too overplayed. I would have loved to see an underdog team take it deep into the playoffs. But all Cinderella stories end, right?
I'm the opposite...we've seen many Cinderella teams win the Super Bowl in recent years (Giants twice, Ravens, Packers). I want to see the top dogs go at it.
Ok...teams who were best during the regular season. I'm sorry but I wouldn't have gotten very excited about watching the Chargers go play the Patriots next week
Ravens were only in the Super Bowl last year because Ray Lewis was retiring. Both years the Giants played, they were playing good ball. I don't remember the Packers Super Bowl season because I was getting ready to deploy, I just remember we got to watch the game
All those teams were low seeds barely making it into the playoffs with 9 or 10 regular season wins so would fit the mold of Cinderella. They all got hot at playoff time. I have no clue what the comment on Lewis means? The 2005 Steelers could be added to that group as well.
I agree. It's good for a change to see the 4 best teams left. Should be a great championship weekend. I was getting a little tired of the "cinderella" teams in recent history as well. Save that crap for NCAA march madness. Let the top dawgs go at it.
Cinderella teams will be far more common if the NFL expands the playoff numbers. I'm not sure how I'd like that, would be more football but a minimum of 6 more teams would have to be added putting 18 of the 32 teams in. 3 teams in each conference would have a bye and 2 additional wild card teams added. The number 5 seed would host a wild card game. Not sure how else they could do it. The championship games this weekend have the potential to be the best single weekend of football in a long time, but it also sets the stage forthe biggest letdown as well. 9'ers over the 'hawks- 28-24 Broncs route the Pats- 38- 17 Broncs eke out a SB win over the 9'ers- 34-27
