Its 2014. When will people realize that it's not 1974 anymore and accept that people are gay. Why all the homophobia? I'm not sure what these people did to you but you are living in the past, heck my 10 year old daughter is more tolerant.

    Absolutely agree with Hooker.

Also... People really need to learn to accept people for who they are. He's a human being just like you and I.

What does it matter that they kissed on national tv and why would anyone be "disgusted" by it. Grow up and accept that times are changing - Homophobia has no place in this world. Let people live their lives.

I made the mistake of blurring the lines when it came to religious freedom. Although I think the world is headed in the wrong direction, he has to abide by the rules of his place of employment. They must protect religious observances and practices but not his comments, he can be punished as they see fit. The government has nothing to do with this, but with that said, even though the government isn't related to this incident, I do think the government pushes an agenda. Why do people/government push their agenda one way or another? For acceptance? Poeple are already free to be gay and and likewise free to be against it so I guess I never understand why people are frowned upon from either side. Just let it be, there is no issue. This is no different than if he was reprimanded for being late too many times. But that also means that people who are against Jones should shut up too, he is allowed to be against it if he wants.

Homophobia is a made up word. I certainly am not afraid of homosexuals.

People have a right to be "disgusted" by whatever they want. It's just not smart to tweet everything you are thinking.

It was a PR move by the Dolphins given the player issues they went through last season.

I have no problem letting people live their lives. Maybe people who support gay rights should learn to just let those people who don't support gay rights live THIER lives. For instance if you want to marry a dude and you go to a cake shop owned by a Christian and he refuses based on his religious views, try going to another freaking cake shop instead of taking him to court and forcing him to either make your cake or close his business.

Its 2014. When will people realize that its OK to not like what somebody else is doing? I don't like seeing two dudes kissing and it should be ok that I don't like it. I don't care if they do, but I don't necessarily want to see it and it should be ok that I don't.

He signed a contract which has a code of conduct in it, that takes away his right to free speech. The NFL is is not a democracy he should be fined according to the rules of the code.

I don't believe that thinking homosexuality is unnatural makes anyone a homophobe. The continuous drubbing of gay and lesbian activity by our media is only done to make it seem normal to the mainstream. Unfortunately, it has worked to a large extent. In fact, I think I might be a lesbian.

so out of curiosity, why was tebow derided? who was suspended for saying the crass things regarding his lifestyle?

i'm active duty in the military. i'm a traditional, conservative sort of person. should i hide my religious beliefs to accommodate someone's secular ones? bottom line for me, is that if they can share their lifestyle, i should be able to share mine...that is after all what i thought the lgbt agenda sought, at least per their voiced agenda. jm2c

It's not ok because you are looking down at a certain group of people for their lifestyle. I imagine people used to say the same about white people marrying black people 50 years ago - history will look at your type the same in 50 years.

The race comparison does not work. A majority of black people do not approve of that same lifestyle. I would hate to see what you call that type.

Why do you see it as an absolute that if a person believes an activity that a person or group promotes to be wrong or sinful that they are "looking down" on them? I don't agree with homosexuality. I just can't. There are a lot of people in this world who do things I don't think are right, but that doesn't mean that I look down on them. I only look down on the ones that would condemn me because I refuse to be swayed to their way of thinking.

Only if "your type" is successful in eliminating Christianity and a lot of other religions from the planet. You've made significant headway, but ultimately I don't see you being successful.

I dont know dmen, im guessing you're basing this on just feel and not actual statistics?

I think that with the times changing and churches adapting that this gay stuff will turn into something normal and accepted. In 50 years we'll have something else to focus our hate on. Not that I approve of the "slippery slope" theory that many anti gay people put out, but im sure we'll be hotly debating legalizing pedophilia or something else. Always something to hate in this world.

What I dont understand is that if you don't approve of something, why do you feel the need to post it all over social media? Just because you don't like something doesn't mean the person next to you needs/wants to know muchless the rest of the nation.

It works perfectly. Back then people viewed interracial marriage as a stigma and both socially and morally unacceptable. See the parallel?

That type is people who refuse to accept the modern world. Everyone knows that one old guy who has a derogatory term for people from any country other than his own. Well he was that type 50 years ago.

Because they call it disgusting and horrible. Pretty strong terms for simply not agreeing with something.

Say the same thing about hooking up with fat chicks and you don't even get a second look... Prolly get some chuckles and a pat on the back.

One view that everything is normal and okay doesn't have to be shoved down our throats as the general public. Everyone has different views.
