I wouldn't consider any of those guys elite at their positions today. But yeah I get your point. Mike Vrable (linebacker) used to catch a lot of TD's for the Pats.

I would love to see JJ Watt win it this year but a betting man would put $$$ on Rodgers.

Yup. He's an bruiser of an athlete, has more TDs than many offensive ball handlers, and is a good representative for the Texans. He's my vote.

There's rarely an opportunity for the league to award it to a defensive player so hopefully the voters will take advantage of this chance.

MVP in my opinion is the player that if you take them away their team has no chance to be where they are. I think JJ Watt has had an amazing year and done things that rarely have been achieved, if ever. If you take him away from Houston would they still be competing at the level they are, probably not.

My pick though would be Rodgers because I think he is more important to the overall success of the Packers. No way the Packers win that game the other night without him gutting it out. Nothing against JJ but Rodgers to me is just "More Valuable" to the success of their respective teams.

The same case could be made for Peyton, Romo, Brady, etc. Most of these teams would be nothing without their QB.

I'm not so sure. And that's the problem with defensive players IMO. Their effect isn't as great as a QB or running back. The amount of actual plays made arent' as many. Don't get me wrong he's a tremendous freak of nature talent and a game changer for sure. I'm just not sure he makes a team that much better like a QB has the opportunity to do. I'm not sure if the Texans (9-7) are that much worse if he didn't play.

Well Pastor since he "Suh" didn't get suspended I guess that was a moot point and there was no penalty on the play for that either. And I really don't recall him "Rodgers" crying about that in particular although if that monster of a man had stepped on me like that I probably would have had real tears in my eyes. Don't get me wrong, I am not a Packers fan nor particularly a Rodgers fan but he showed some intestinal fortitude the other night that I respect. Did not quit when he could have.
