He has had great games against against the pack. I think the pack is going to wish they signed Allen instead of Peppers.

It's only 15.5 million guaranteed with the option to void the 4th year. Pretty good signing for the bears. If they can find some depth at safety the defense won't be as awful as it was last year at least and might actually start helping them win games again.

It kills me to see Allen go to the Bears.... Wish him the best of luck though - I truly hope he continues his charity work in Chicago and throughout Minnesota.

Home for Wounded Warriors is an amazing charity.

I am not sure I agree. The Packers O line helped make Jarred Allen a very rich man.

You are right. I'm pretty certain Allen has accumulated more of his sacks versus the Packers than any other team in the NFL.

I actually think he had five or six in one game against the Pack and 9 that season.

Maybe so but...who has a recent Super Bowl...and dominated the division for the last 20 years? The Vikings have been bottom feeders and Allen benefited by playing next to the Williams for most of those years. I'm not sweating his move to Chicago.

Green Bays line is actually in GREAT shape with the emergence of Bahktiari and Buluga coming back. The only hole is center and we have JR Tretter stepping in or a rookie that we'll draft in round 3 or 4.

As much as it pains me to say it...The majority of the sacks are Rodgers fault. He holds the ball too long looking for the big play...rather then throw it away.

Umm....not even sure what your resonse has to do with my post. I simply agreed that Allen has done very well versus the Pack in the past and would expect him to continue do so in the future.

This is what I was originally replying too.

Everyone else said that Allen got paid because the Packers couldn't block him.

What I'm saying...from watching every single Packers game over the last 5-6 years is that Rodgers is to blame more then the line. He holds the ball too long. It's that simple. Allen also benefited from having other good players (all pros...pro bowlers) on the line with him.

Also, he may have been disruptive, but it didn't matter. Green Bay enjoyed the majority of success anyway. His move to Chicago doesn't change very much IMO and we will still run the division.

Peppers doesn't need to get sacks. That's not his job next year. He will be playing elephant.

I bet Green Bay gets more sacks as a team though, as a result of Peppers taking up blockers ;)

Allen plays great, but the team rarely makes the playoff. Other members said they are "scared" now that he is on the Bears, and I am not. It won't change the order of things in the NFC North.

Again, nothing really to do with how effective Jared Allen is as a player but they did make the playoffs 3/6 seasons he was there....I would hardly consider that "rarely" getting in. I couldn't care less what you say about the Vikings....the Steelers have been my favorite team for a long time. I have always liked Allen as a player and I think he has a little left in the tank.

I like him too. He's awesome for the NFL.

My point is...him switching teams does little to the dynamic of the NFL North. Yes, they made the palyoffs. But they haven't had a real shot since they poached Favre.

Whether he sacks Rodgers 12 times this year or not.

Green Bay will not be #1 in NFC North this year.

Caleb you get the difference in sacks from last year to this year for the Packers and I get the difference from last year to this year for the Bears. If you win I will put up a Packers avatar for a month if I win you put up a Vikings avatar for a month. Winner choses the avatar for the loser :)
