James Jones will suffer just like Greg Jennings did. Good QB's make average receivers look extra good. Jones did have the longest stretch of the season with out a dropped ball last year or the year before. To bad, he's supposed to be a great guy. He was homeless all the way through high school. The late 30's for a DE can be brutal. I hope Peppers shows up.
Jennings did and Jones will most likely follow suit in the suffering due to QB play at their new teams. Nothing to do with them not being capable receivers....both are well above average receivers in the league and in their prime are a #1 or #2 guy on any team nearly. I foresee Jones regretting the move football wise but not money wise.
What about MCGowen to MN? To me Ponder is "OK" but I think they can do better. On defense, I think they need to keep Allen AND get CB/LB help. If the defense goes backward this year, can Ponder step it up? If not, we're asking the RB's to carry a heavy load.
Ponder will not be our QB. Did you mean Cassel? IMO they paid Griffen WAY too much money for what he has done... Out of all the DE I think he has the 2nd highest guaranteed amount of $$$.
Who is MCGowen? Their starter will be Cassel as least intially. Vikings likely would have competed for the division last year (since every team sucked) if Cassel had started every game. Their record was .500 when he started and he also came off the bench to win two other games. Jennings actually had some big games when Cassel played but could do nothing with Ponder in there. They will draft a QB of the future though.
His asking price is too high, he reportedly wants north of 10 mil a year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He's too old for that kind of contract. Teams will want a deal where they can easily cut him if his play suffers due to age (ala Peppers). It's a crowded year for old pass rushers anyways...
I wouldn't mind the Bears picking up Allen on the cheap to replace Peppers. Although if he's going to hold out for 10 mil he'll be retiring before he gets a contract. I'm still interested in seeing where a few of these veteran QB's like Schaub and Vick land.
I'm actually surprised no one has picked up Vick yet. Schaub had a horrible year so I could see why he hasn't signed but it seems like Vick has a couple good years left. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Forgive me-I'm getting old! Didn't get to see much football last year and totally spaced out that Cassel took over the reins. (how embarrassing) But thanks for the reminder-now I'll be a bit more upbeat on their season.
Woodson back to the Raiders and Hester to the Falcons. I wanted both if they came cheap...but...on to the next... Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Allen hasn't signed yet has he? I thought he left again with no contract? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
No contract signed yet. He wants to kill pigs with spears...I bet he retires. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
No they dont. Our oline is in great shape. We've been playing him for 6 years, no different. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
