Little can be if he didn't drop the ball. Cooper will surprise some people if they use him correctly but he's still just a possession receiver, we really need a replacement for Gordon which GM Farmer said he will. Not sure what he has up his sleeve though, we had Sammy Watkins in our lap and could have traded up for Dennard to be our CB opposite of Haden for our second first round pick. I hate it when teams try too hard to be clever or get a shock pick that doesn't really make sense.

HUGE HUGE HUGE mistake passing on Watkins. With or without Gordon. That combo would have been lethal for years (Marshall & Jefferies lethal). Little has the look of your prototype #1 receiver....just cant catch the ball.

Manziel isn't really comparable to Tebow... I mean yes they both run but Manziel can actually throw. If he can stay uninjured he will be a better version of Cam Newton imo

I don't know if I'll go that far...Cam Newton might end up being the best duel threat Quarterback ever one day...

He's got a long way to go to catch Vick pre scooby doo fiasco....

It's just hard to judge dual threat QBs... One blown knee and they could be ruined for good. JFF has done everything Cam has done except better to this point in his career, until he fails I have no reason to believe that won't continue...

By that logic he will soon be even better because the Bengals would absolutely destroy the Alabama Crimson Tide if they were to play last year...

Too bad the Bengals don't play a college schedule. AFC North defenses will eat McCaron alive if he gets a chance to play. Dalton isn't very good either but I'm not sure McCaron will be an upgrade.

Oh I know... But talented teammates and talented competition are two different things.

McCarron was good because he was good not because he was plugged into a team where anyone could look good. His teammates were good then, and will be even better now. That said, I don't think he is good enough to overcome the next level of opposition. Who knows... He's a ****** regardless.

That is a big IF...Cam is huge. Manziel is tiny.

Big QBs who scramble can get back up without too much damage, the first time Manziel gets blind sided or pancaked by a fat boy, it won't bode well.

I don't know...that logic might work if he was playing in the WAC or D2, but he played in the SEC and was successful. That's about as close to NFL talent/size as you can get. I don't think that first big hit is going to impact him as much as people think.

Russell Wilson just won a Super Bowl as a tiny scrambler... It CAN work, not saying it necessarily will.

I agree him staying relatively injury free with his style of play is virtually impossible... But if he somehow pulls that off, I still think he can/will be the best dual threat QB in the league. He's performed up to this point better than any other one in history and that's through only two years of college play...

Russell Wilson is thick. Manziel is not.

Meh that's splitting hairs there. JFF lists at 6'-6'1" 207-211lbs depending on the source. Wilson is 5'11" 205 lbs... Virtually the same except Manziel is FOUR years younger, by the age of 25 after four years of NFL weight rooms I'd say Manziel will be the better physical specimen.

I agree with all the concerns, I just think it's a little premature to write them off as a certainty to happen just yet.

Russell Wilson had the best defense in the NFL and held Manning to 1 touchdown in the Super Bowl. He's not all that and a bowl of rice...just a better then average quarterback who makes smart decision and doesn't have to put up gaudy numbers. They can also run the ball very well. Wilson didn't lead them to a Super Bowl with his quarterback skills.

Lol he still put up 40 something in the Super Bowl... He's not a scrub and that's not my point anyway.

It was pointed out that JFF is a small dual threat QB as a negative, I simply pointed out our current world champion is an even smaller dual threat QB. All it takes is the right fit on the right team. The browns are a Better team than people realize. Losing their best wr for the year crushes them, but in 1-2 years I could easily see them being a contender. They have several key pieces already (mainly from sucking for so long and finally loading up in draft)...

Will JFF be as good as the current all time greats in the league? Heck no... Does he have the potential to be the best running QB? Heck yes. To this point he has outperformed all the people used as examples against him.

    I can agree with that.

I still think Cam Newton is going to be the bar-setter though.
