The highlighted quote makes it sound like you think manziel wont start. It would REALLY surprise me if he doesn't start. Although I agree it would be good for him to at least sit a year.
As for the media attention, how could that not be a good thing? Attention=ticket sales=$$$$

Anyone else notice Johnny Manzeils D*** in Jon Grudens mouth last night?

He pretty much said Manzeil was going to be the pick 1-21.

You are correct. I don't think Manziel will start the season. He may end up starting as the season moves on and the pressure from fans builds. Especially if the current starting QB stumbles. other than Bortles I don't think any of these QB's are ready to come in a start.

The Browns definitely made out like bandits the way the dust settled by snagging him late. No one is arguing that.

I'm just saying they were idiotic grabbing a decent CB at 8 and even remotely risking losing JFF to anyone else (passing at 8 it seemed like a guarantee they wouldn't be getting him at 22). Cleveland needs to sell tickets, they need to get fans excited, they need JFF. They made out awesome by ending up with him in the end, but they are incredibly lucky their stupidity didn't bite them in the ***.

So Bama players are no good in the pros because they receive great coaching up to that point?

yes they are coached out, while Michigan players receive no coaching at all during their time at Michigan, so they thrive!!!!!

His elite talent cannot be questioned... But they gave up FAR too much to get him in my eyes.

Hard to question yet. People said the same about the Falcons move to snag Julio and that worked out great. Bills gave up even less for a WR that looks to translate to the league in a similar fashion.

Clowney and Watkins were the two best talents in the entire draft. IMO

Is there any chance Houston does NOT take Carr with this first pick tonight? I thought he'd go above Bridgewater so they've gotta be kind of excited about that.

Houston would be silly to pass on him tonight. I would be surprised if they did.

That's what it looks like to me. Any other reason most of the top guys are busts?

Yeah it's simple... They are overdrafted.

Comparing players on Bama vs another team they often take the Bama player just because he's already experienced success... Ignoring the fact he may not make the better pro.

I'll agree with that. Guys are excellent college players. They just don't translate to pro very well.

This will be Rick Spielmans make or break year. He has drafted 5 first rounders in two years, which includes a second attempt at a franchise quarterback in Teddy Bridgewater. (they actually tried to trade up to grab Johnny Manziel but Cleveland outbid them.) Let's hope Teddy works out for us.

In 12 hours after Johnny Manziel was drafted, Browns sold more than 1,500 new season tickets.

There is NO chance Houston will take Carr. I would be shocked if they did. Didn't his brother play there and was a flop?

Carr is the best player on the board right now... Houston needs a QB... But I can see them moving down to get more picks.

Filed to ESPN: 49ers trading a conditional 2015 4th-round pick to Buffalo for WR Stevie Johnson, per sources. Pick can become a 3rd.

So Bills are getting back the 2015 fourth-round pick they gave up to Cleveland. So it's Sammy Watkins for next year's 1.

They also gave up their second best receiver with next years one... Lol. Stevie Johnson may not be a Sammy Watkins, but he is far from a scrub.

I personally thought they could have gotten more out of him.
