Can't the same be said about Chip Kelly? Everyone thought he ran this crazy system and needed a running QB. Now Foles is in there and is playing well.
The owner of team carries a bit more clout than his employee They also have a GM. What type of qbs did Harbaugh and Carroll coach before Kaepernick and Wilson? Do you think if Manziel had been on PSU's roster Obrien wouldn't have played him? Obrien is a smart coach. He can adjust to whatever type of qb they provide to him There is actually a good chance they try to trade away their #1 pick though
Just my opinion... I don't think he will adjust to a new system for a single player when there are 2 other pocket passers that are rated better than Manziel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So if the GM Rick Smith (final decision maker on the draft other than the owner) decides to pick Manziel....Obrien is going to do what? Quit?
Yep... That's exactly it. Smh The GM doesn't just say "I'm picking this guy because "I" like him most without consulting with ALL coaches, owner, etc." I just don't see it happening. Who knows though, I'm probably wrong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yep...Manziel has greater playmaking ability than Wilson... The main reason I used that comparison is they are both considered undersized by nfl standards and like to use mobility to make plays.
That's my point. Chip Kelly coached nothing but mobile QBs most of his career, but then he came to Philly and had to adjust. That's what good coaches do. Just because O'Brien has had pocket passers in the past, doesn't mean he will skip on a short but talented mobile QB.
Probably not as much as they want it to be since there is no consensus #1 player this year. I don't know that there will be team out there willing to pay a big price to get it in one of the deepest drafts in recent memory.
I can see three scenarios play out. It's going to be worth whatever the team moving up is willing to give. Atlanta wanting Clowney. Browns wanting Manziel. I also saw something about the Bills wanting to move up. Couple years ago the Cowboys moved up at least 10 spots to get Claibourne, I'm pretty sure they only gave up their first and second. But then the Redskins gave up 3 total first round picks and a second to move up a couple of spots to get RG3.
They are not talking about anyone in this draft like they did with RG3 though. Plus when has Snyder not over paid
All I know is that this draft will be crazy with the first 10 picks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
They had him doing everything... He even dropped into coverage and was not that bad. I see him going number 1 - The talent is just too much to pass up on.
