I agree with Brady and Rodgers..... The NFL needs them every week for ratings. They are THE faces of the league. When one gets hurt, ratings drop, money is lost. While I agree hitting the QB is part of the game, it needs to be better controlled. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have no qualms with protecting the QB, teams have a lot of their cap wrapped up in their franchise QB. If he goes out the odds of them winning greatly drops compared to any other position. I would like them to be able to review some hits though. While there are some good calls and some missed calls, there are just as many bad calls and it's not limited to the QB position. A lot of flags get thrown because one of the refs hears but does not see the hit. Helmet to helmet is a pretty distinct sound, but if the ref hears it, turns to look and sees the QB on his *** he throws a flag, then replay shows it was not a bad hit. When a defensive player commits to a tackle he can't pause, readjust and recommit because the QB sees the hit coming. When a QB drops and spins as the defensive player is already diving at his body and it results in helmet to helmet that should not be flagged like it often does. Make those calls reviewable via booth calls. The fear of games taking too long is crap. I don't know how many times I have had regularly scheduled programming delayed because of a college football or badeball game going an hour or more over it's timeslot. Leaving the calls to the booth to make will limit the number reviewed. A bad call can have just as much effect on a game or season as a bad hit. I also think Troy Aikman and Joe Buck should be forced to call today's game using only sign language off camera.
I dont have a problem when they get hit if it is within the one step but when Brady got pissed the most he took his step hit him and tackled him to the ground. Any QB with the stature of Brady or Rodgers would have been pissed.
Well the objective of any d lineman is to sack the qb, if they can't sack them they want to hit them, anytime the QB has to pick himself up off the ground it is a good thing. The QB's should be mad at their linemen not the ref and not the player that hit them, it is part of the game. I should say it used to be part of the game back before fantasy football.
Almost game time!! Bought a ticket to ride on the packer band wagon!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm still looking for that SAP button on my remote You might be "Pack riding" but the "Sack riding" is about to begin as well
I love the look in a rods eyes pregame. That guy is confident right now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
13:00 left in first quarter Joe Buck: This Cowboys drive started on their own 25, they are already on the Packers 40. 3rd and 2 Joe Buck: This Cowboys offense has the Packers defense on their heels. Next play, pass batted down in the secondary
Wow, here comes the turnover that I predicted. Prescott is going to throw a pick 6 and recovery impossible begins.
Could get ugly quick. Never heard of that unsportsmanlike penalty before. Dumb if you ask me but is what it is. That was beyond huge for the Packers. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
With player safety such an issue I can't believe not having chin strap snapped isn't a penalty. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
Not sure on the penalty, but I would imagine once in the huddle you are commited to the play so the defense would be using that to make their own substitutions and play call. Then he leaves the field and the defense is left with the wrong call and possibly package. My thoughts on it anyway.
