I've wanted to watch more of it but I have been busy. Just saw that Chris Johnson's mark was just barely missed among other highlights. Geno Smith has apparently helped his draft stock putting up similar numbers as Cam. Those guys are just great athletes. I actually prefer seeing the "non-skilled". It's amazing what those guys can do.
Remember when Terrell Davis ran a blistering 4.75 as a RB in the combine. He went on to have one heck of a career. While I find Te'o weird, I will come to his defense in this case. He is middle linebacker and mlb's take a tremendous amount of punishment throughout the year. And considering he played the national championship game only 6 weeks ago, I bet his body is completely torn up. And to top it all off, he cannot even lift because his shoulder is injured. To run a fast 40 yard dash time you need to be able to move your shoulders violently and he cannot do so. His training has suffered no doubt. He is more than likely a 245 lb mlb who can run a legit 4.7 o 4.65 when healthy. That means he can put a heck of a hit on most people. Good enough for most NFL rosters and those people that understand training and such understand why he was slowed down in his 40 yard dash during the combine.
I just like making fun of guys who create fake girlfriends to have a good story line to over hype their season and gain accolades that they didn't even really deserve. Speaking of an impressive Combine... Knile Davis has been showing out! Dude ran a 4.37 and threw up 31 reps on the bench press as a 230 lb RB. If it wasn't for his injury history, dude would be really opening some eyes right now.
I enjoy the combine. With the Vikes going DT, LB or WR this year I pay extra attention to those guys. Then, as I am watching, I find myself thinking "these guys dont even have pads on, these are barely football related drills." In the end, its fun to see who helps or hurts their stock. Millions of dollars are at stake for these days.
