One thing I'm worried about: The Vikings suck at covering Tight Ends. Hopefully Shockey doesn't become too big of a factor.

One key for the vikes D will be Jared Allen. They will have a rookie left tackle covering him so they will need to double up on him, hopefully opening some other holes for the pass rush. Brees is known for getting rid of the ball quickly though so we'll see if this is even a factor.

The vikes need to survive the first quarter winning or down no more than 7. If the saints get up a couple and the crowd gets going, that could be it.

Percy was out today with migraines again....could be very bad news for Brett's 3rd down guy.

I'm a Vikings fan...have been since the early 70's. I remember draft day asking my agent if the Vikings were interested at all in me he said "not even a letter" I was bummed to say he least.... BUT I'm still a Vikings fan and always will be followed closely by Denver (for obvious reasons).

That being said, I really don't think the Vikings will win and it kills me to type this. The last few years, the Vikings have been what is known as an "emotional team" in that they need positive things to happen early to keep their energy high and the team focused on winning. The Saints are also an emotional team. Indy and New England (for example) are not emotional teams they are methodical and tempered (in my opinion a better team attribute) and tend to bounce back from early adversity better than an emotional team does...

So what does my endless ramblings regarding the inner psyche of the NFL have to do with the Saints Vikings game you ask?? Simple the team that gets the early lead will most likely win the game. I sadly think it will be the Saints as they are tough to beat at home.

Say what you will about Bret Favre, there is no denying that he is both an emotional and methodical player and has done a lot for the Vikings to believe that they can come back from being down and could quite be the difference in the game......at least I hope so.
