lol, now that made me laugh, the lions are moving in the right direction, still don't think they'll beat the pack, but they are improving
Just saw Favres post game conference. RESPECT. I hope he comes back for another year and If he doesn't I'm not going to whine about It like a few of the cheese heads do on here.
I just saw Brees' I know he just sent his team to there first super bowl, but WTH was up with that hat :D
I loved every minute of that game! I gotta admit that I am a huge Drew Brees fan... have been since he started in SanDiego. He is the most under-rated QB in the leauge today.... and considering he gets a good bit of attention... thats saying something. Now... I do have to say something.... and all of you Vikings fans can say whatever you want.... but A. Petterson isn't even one of the top 15 running backs this year IMO. What happened? He is considered by many to be the 2nd best RB this year... behind Chris Johnson.... but in any big game he seems to cough up the ball. It amazed me to hear people talking him up before tonights game, when he really hasn't been impressive since the mid-way point of the regular season. He really needs to work on ball security because he has more physical skill/gifts than any other player at any position in the entire NFL.... right now he is just shooting himself in the foot.
Couldn't agree more. I've said this a few times this year already though. You mentioned skills. Did you see his explosive speed In tonight's game when he did break a few longer runs? Wow he's got some wheels and power when he turns on the jets!!! That amazes me more then anything. I wonder though If he's ever going to be able to get over this fumble BS?
:D I find this funny b/c I know many Saints fans that were adamant that the fix was in and that the NFL wanted Favre in the SB. It was really a horrible officiated game for both teams. The Vikes were getting all the calls the first 3 quarters, then the Saints got them all in the 4th and OT. Anyways... I have no idea how the Saints won that game. They seriously need to learn to jump on the ball instead of trying to pick it up. I also liked the Saints trying to send Favre into retirement last night
My stance on overtime play has been greatly reinforced after last night. There is no way that the end of any NFL game should be decided by a coin flip. Yeah you need a coin flip to decide who gets the ball first, but you have to at least give each team one possession to make it even close to being fair. The blessing in disguise for that loss is that I don't think my body can take another game like that. I was physically tired after it was all over.
I've always said that Favre will win games because he is Brett Favre, and he is a good QB..................but he will also lose games because he is Brett Favre !!! I don't think that he has won any big games in a dome ??? Am I right on that one ? Sorta snickered on the few plays I watched last night when the Saints were trying to make oatmeal out of Favre !!!! I am still a GB Fan !!! Maybe Next year !!!
I'll agree with the statement that the Vikes probably should have won the game last night, but they sure didn't deserve it with the stupid penalties and fumbles. I really hate how players in the NFL always try to pick the ball up and run with it... why the hell don't they just jump on the ball when it's fumbled. As far as the superbowl game... I'm not too sure that NO defense is going to be good enough to stop the Colts offense. Hopefully it's a good game though. I'll be happy with the result despite who wins in a couple of weeks.
a friends FB status said this today: Favre's on the ground, Favre's on the ground, looking like a loss with Favre on the ground, with his teeth knocked out and his helmet on sideways, looking like a loss with Favre on the ground!
My opinion of the game, Colts destroy the Saints if they can't even put away a team AT HOME who fumbled 5 times and threw 2 interceptions without a nailbiter in overtime. I think it was idiotic to have thrown that ball in the first place, but seeing as he did, it wasn't that terrible of a pass to be honest. The last angle they showed on it clearly showed how open Rice was, all he had to do was come up to the ball and he easily catches it. but he sits on his heels waiting for it allowing the defender to swoop in from underneath for a pick. Dumb idea to have thrown, but not a bad throw especially for throwing back across his body on the move. It was actually a hell of a pass, just a dumb idea to have even tried.
He could have ran it for at least 5 yards, got out of bounds and set up Longwell...who is a phenomenal field goal kicker. Stupidity. And MN guys listen to PA on KFAN this morning?? Had an interview with Longwell, he isn't a happy guy right now! Oh, and he made it pretty clear, without actually saying it, that Favre will be back. If not we'll just pick up McNabb :D
It was just a sloppy game in general. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This takes the cake of the stupidest thing I've read all Day: "Often overlooked, the Saints' Jabari Greer, right, once again proved he's an elite CB by shutting down Minnesota's Bernard Berrian" -ESPN a) Who hasn't shut down Berrian this season? B) he caught 9 balls for 102 yrds. lol
