We'll give it one more shot and then I'll give up on you all. Post your best wildlife shot. Any wild critter you want, but it has to be fair chase, NO CAGED ANIMALS. Judging next Sunday by whomever can set up the judging, I'll be away from home for 2 weeks.

This was a great idea. I think with everyone's busy schedule it only gave a short weekend window for most to get out and take pictures and I am sure most had plans or weren't able to get out. Like the idea. Think it should be a monthly contest! Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk 2
Agreed. Extending the contest by a month ensures enough time for anyone seriously considering entering to do so around their various schedules. Are we going to give it another go?
Ok we will give this one more try but on a monthly basis now so everyone has time to take and submit pictures. Contest subject will be posted the morning of June 1st and on the 1st of every month proceeding. All pictures must be submitted by midnight Central time on the 25th of the month. Voting will run from the 26th-29th(28th in Feb) and the winner will then be announced and have 1-2 days to think of a new topic and then post it on the 1st of the next month. Since we have a few days till we start the next contest I wanted to pose 3 questions to everyone that we need to decide on before we begin this. Question 1: How about allow everyone to submit up to 3 pictures? I enjoy seeing pictures and would hate to not see some great pictures because someone already submitted one. Question 2: Why not let the previous months winner participate even after picking the topic. I think the entire point of this is for everyone to have a good time, take pictures and share with everyone else. By not allowing the previous winner to enter we won't get to see his/her pictures. Question 3: Final queston! In the event of a tie I think the last winner should get the tie braker vote. If (question 2) the that person is one of the finalist for this month then the month prior winner gets tie braker vote! Let me know if anyone has a problem with these 3 changes or if we shouldn't do them. If no resposes then they will take effect June 1st and Heckler(since you won last time by default!) will post the months topic that morning! Heckler- If you don't want to participate or you can't post that morning let me know. If you want to participate but can't post that morning PM me the topic and I can post it for you!
I still say previous month's winner should not be eligible to win. There are persons on here that could take it month after month and some would lose interest very quickly. I would suggest previous month's winner could post photos but not be eligible for that month's voting. That would also alleviate in the case of a tie the previous month's winner picking their own photo as this month's winner, or the perception thereof.

Let's see if this is all the rules: 1. Each Photo submitted has to be taken by the person submitting the photo; and the photo has to be taken AFTER the topic is announced. 2. Each person may submit up to 3 photos per topic. 3. Each contest will run from the 1st of the month to 25th of that month. 4. From the 26th to the second to the last day of the month is the voting. 5. In the event of a tie, the previous month's winner will decide on the winner between the two that tied. 6. The winner of the previous month will announce the new topic/subject on the 1st of the month. 7. The winner of the previous month may submit photos, but will not be eligible to win during months when he/she picks the topic. Does that acceptably cover everything? Good luck and good shooting. Oh, AND if there's a full moon on the 13th of the month that falls on Wednesday, one eyed jacks and frogs are wild. (if you figure that one out, let me know because I have no clue what I said).
The new topic is "Growth". Interupt the topic however you would like. Growth can be applied to a lot of things.
