Looking to get a new 3-D target since the Shooter Buck target that i bought quit stopping arrows at about 2mo old... (very dissapointed) So its between the Glendel target and the Rinehart woodland buck target... I had one of the original glendels and it held up well but i also know that rineharts are hard to beat so since they are the same price i was wondering if anyone had experience with either one or both... Thanks,Brian
The Rinehart....I got a Archers Choice...Delta target today. I have to say I'm very impressed with it for the money.
I have the Rinehart 18-1 target. Looks like a dungeon and dragons dice from the 80's with a loop rope handle. I just throw it out in the yard and whatever side comes up facing me, I shoot. The thing is lasting forever!
I just bought a Rinehart Rhinoblock it is coming in the mail and will be here on Saturday. From what I hear from everybody else rinehart targets are the way to go. I was tired shooting through my block target lost an arrow the other day because of it so I got online and bought one at gander mountain for 119. I have shot some rineharts before and always liked them. The thing I like about the rhinoblock is that it has a side that looks like the body of the deer if you want to shoot at the deer before season. But I like to spot shoot to really get dialed in and it has plenty of spots to shoot at. You can shoot all 6 sides and it has a replacible core. My dad has a glendel and I personally do not like it. It holds up pretty good but being as new as his target is my arrows were going a long ways through it. I also do not like how the block insert is being held in place in the target. Basically by the foam back. So be careful when taking arrows out in the area so you dont rip the foam on the back. My dads is starting to tear.
I love my 18-1 and will be looking at 3d target's this spring. Great thread. Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk 2
I just got the glen del target. I chose it because I like that the block is replaceable. However, I see where Nsimmons is coming from, just never thought about it. Probably best to not put too much pressure on block when pulling, or just pop the block out and pull them (takes seconds). The one thing I wish is that the glen del had the 3D scoring rings, it isn't the end of the world though.
Yep becareful and try not to shoot the back when you have broad heads on it. I accidentally did when I was getting my bow sighted in last year. I was shooting my new rhinoblock this past weekend and so far I like it a lot. It's not 3d like you want but it does have a body portion on it which is neat to mix up your targets. It is also very light and compact for transport/carrying into storage.
