Just wanted to make my first post. I have been out of the bow game for a long time, but I'm getting out of the military so I will have more time on my hands. My first bow was a Jennings that was made back in the 70's past to me by my hunting mentor. Back in 2005 I bought a Martine Fury off of a buddy of mine for $200. At the time it was only a year or so old and fired no more then 30-50 times. I really don't know what to do with setting the bow up. I'm wanting to get new carbon arrows, a sight, rest, and maybe a new stabilizer. I'm going to have to do this on a budget. If y'all could help me that would be great!!!!
    Thanks,
    Guns

First of all wlecome to the forum. I am not sure what sight or arrows to recomend right off hand but, if your on a budget and want a good rest and tabilizer, Look at New Archery Products (NAP) They have a drop away rest called the Apache. You can get it for around $60.00 give or take $5-$10 depending on where you buy it. They also have a stabilizer called the Apache and it is one amaizing stabilizer. They offer it in 5" and 8". The 8" can be used as both. I believe it is around $35-$45 for the 5" and around $50-$60 for the 8". I have this in the 8" version and love it. They don't have apicture of the stabilizer on here but, If you google New Archery Products all the info is on there. There are a lot of guys that us both of these products on here and I haven't seen a complaint yet. Their customer service is 2nd to none. I use a lot of their products now and won't use any other products simply because their service is that great. Good luck with everything and don't be afraid to ask anything on here. This is a great bunch of guys and galls.

Welcome to the fourm! I'll second NAP on quality products that are priced for the average bowhunter. As far as gear goes try to buy the best you can afford not the cheapest. I learned the hard way when I started out I put on the cheapest stuff I could find and replaced all of it very quickly. The apache is a real winner as a rest and as a stabilizer. Now sights depending on what you plan to shoot single or multi pin look for a sight that has fiber optic that is decent in lenght more than 2 inches. keep an eye on the archery tackle forum I've seen some great gear go for cheap. Best of luck any questions ask :tu:

First of all, welcome and thankyou for your service. If it wasnt for our men and women of the armed forces, none of us could chase them crazy whitetails around like we love to do. I dont know the exact cost, but for arrows, I know Gold Tip 55/75's are pretty reasonably priced. They dont have all the bells and whistles that some other arrows have, but they are definitely a good hard hitting arrow that is pretty durable too.

Thanks for your service, hope you find everything you need on the cheap! If I had any extras I'd gladly hook ya up. Try ebay or post a wanted add on Craigslist.
