I am completely new to bowhunting, and when I say new, I just shot a bow for the first time over the weekend. After getting sighted in, I was hitting my target consistantly at 30 yds. So, I am looking at arrows. I was shooting Gold Tips, but need to buy some now. So, question is, which arrow do you guys think would be best for me and why? Btw...28" 60lbs Options; Easton Axis $70 ( I don't know the difference in the Deep Six or HIT??) Easton Bloodlines $55 Easton Flatline Superlites $60 RedHead X5 $35 Gold Tip XT Hunter $95 Gold Tip Velocity XT $60 Gold Tip Expedition Hunter $75 Gold Tip Pro Hunter $75 Gold Tip Kenetic XT $75 Gold Tip Velocity Hunter $79 Gold Tip Kinetic Hunter $55
Try the easton bloodlines 400 I've heard great things about them, out of the options try the bow madness arrows they are 60 bucks for 6 and I've blown through everything I shoot, I've hit tree stumps (accidentally) have never broken one. Hopefully I helped
thanks. I was kind of leaning to the Easton, but the Axis. The guy here at a local shop kept telling me how much better the GT were and that they were a stronger, lighter arrow, making them faster...not knowing, I figured I could get help here.
Most of those are too much money for my blood. I shoot Bemin ICS Bowhunters and they're awesome. Cheap, durable, and I'm extremely accurate with them. 2 deer down and 2 pass throughs with the same arrow this season.
dont get caught up in the whole idea that a lighter faster arrow is better. I would rather have a heavier arrow and less speed than a light arrow going 350 fps. For whitetail anything 400 grains or better will be perfect. Work on getting your foc up between 12-15 percent and youre golden. btw I shoot 480 grain arrows at only 264 fps and I have no problem with my arrow not being fast enough. Pass throughs every time as well
Ive had all of the arrows everybody has mentioned with the exception of the bow madness arrow. I prefer the east axis out of all. As Frantz said above lighter and faster is not always the way to go. Just remember KE is the force measured when your arrow hits the target but momentum is was what allows your arrow to move through the target. Easton axis arrows in a 400 spine with a 26" cut should put you right around the 365 grain range which is a good medium. Oh and FRANTZ you wouldnt happen to be from Texas would you?
I switched to the Bloodlines this season, and I like them a lot. Better than my old cabelas stalker extremes for sure
Oh and FRANTZ you wouldnt happen to be from Texas would you? Nope im from the north east, pa to be exact.
