Guys, I am brand new to bowhunting. I have hunted my whole life and have a gun safe full of some very nice rifles. However, I would like to get into bowhunting yet know very little about it. I assume the draw length has something to do with arm length? I am 6'7" tall and have 37" sleeve length so I assume I would need a longer draw? Any advice would be helpful. I have paid a lot of money for my rifles and don't mind spending some change to get a nice bow.

Find a good archery specific pro shop (not a cabela's or Bass Pro) and have them fit you up. You probably won't be able to find a used bow with your draw length. Probably gonna be 32" or longer. Not many bows are made for those type of draw lengths. But they will be able to find something to fit you and will be very helpful for a beginner.

Good luck and welcome to the site and our addiction.

I just found a Hoyt XT2000 in mint condition for $400 with a 32" draw. Is that a good deal?

I would just go to a pro shop and talk to a guy and see what they have. Thats going to be your best bet because he can tell you what your draw length is gonna be and all other stuff your going to need. The Hoyt most likely isn't going to be right for you and your gonna have to change it up.
