    Hello,

This is my first post on your forums and I had a question that I was hoping one of you could answer. I have just started shooting in March and I am still relatively new with shooting a bow. I have a Parker Wildfire XP. I have repeated problems with my cable and string fraying around my cable slide. I shoot very heavy, but I use scorpion venom on my strings. I have even put on a Teflon cable slide to replace my stock slide and that has not helped. In the last month I had a new set of JBK strings installed, and even though I saturate them with the scorpion venom I still have issues with fraying around the cable slide.

I spoke with a tech at Gander Mountain and he suggested having the string that moves inside the cable slide served so it would not wear down. Is that an option?

Does anybody have any suggestions? I am at my wits end and I do not want to have a brand new set of strings and cables ruined, but I do not know what to do.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Welcome from Iowa. Gosh, that's a tough one. Sounds like you've done everything that I would have done. Let me think about this. Someone else may have the answer right off the bat.

Will the cables slide freely enough thru the slide if you had them served? How bad is the fraying?
