Hey all, I'm from southern Wisconsin. This will be my 2nd year bowhunting, got an antlerless buck last yr but am hoping for better this yr . Prior to that I had been gunhunting for a few years and was looking for something a little more exciting so I decided to give bowhunting a try. So I saved my $$$ and picked up a Matthews Mission UX2 last spring at Pappa's Trading Post in Cross Plains, WI (anyone ever heard of that place? their service is TOP notch, great store!!) Now, the Mission bow I bought is defenitely not as nice as some of the Matthews bows such as the Z7 but I didn't have $700 to spend on a new bow. But I love that bow, it can get 4 arrows in a 5 in circle at 25 yds. it also makes me look better than all my hunting buddies . any packer guys here from WI? would love to hear from some of you great WI people......
I think so. We've only been in Spring Green about 2 yrs now, used to live in Madison area. We have a house on 100 acres about 5 miles from town. mostly oaks & mixed hardwods, we also have about 30 acres in CRP. A bowhunter's heaven!!! I should post some trailcam pics soon.....
I am also new to the bowhunting.com forum and from southern WI. Is everyone itching like crazy for tomorrow morning? I know I am.
Can't wait! I'm hoping to whack a huge doe I've been watching all summer, but I wouldn't be opposed if a mature buck wondered through!! BTW Welcome fellow wisconsinite!
cant wait for tomorrow t. I know things will be slow cause of the pre-rut but I am still hoping to see some nice bucks and maybe some fat does. I am in the CWD EAB zone but they changed the regs this yr so I no longer need to have a doe tagged to bag a buck. so far weather is pretty good here, real cool but not too cold. no sign of rain. just practiced again wi/my bow (its a Mission UX2) and I got 4 arrows in a 6 in circle at 25 yds so I'm set to go
