Hi everyone. I am 35 years old and have never been hunting. I am looking forward to this coming fall when I will go for the first time. My biggest question is: What to look for in a Bow(i.e. accessories, sights)? How much should I expect to spend on my first Bow? Also, my friend has a 15 year old bow that never got much use, would I be wasting my time getting this old bow re-strung and set up for my use? Thanks. I look forward to learning from all of you.

Ted, I assume you have taken a state safety course? Archery is a great sport to get into, I'd try to find a local pro shop ( archery shop ) that can help you out in getting fitted and set up with a bow. They can and should be able to answer all of your questions.

There are also a lot of great guys here that will help ya out. Best of luck.

Ditto. Find a shop in your area, ask a lot of questions, and if they seem to be helpful, give them your business. You can get setup with a great outfit for suprisingly little money anymore. Find a good proshop, ask a lot of questions on sites like this, and you will be shooting very well in no time at all! Good luck!
