You have a great spot to hunt not far from you at all and your not all that far from LaSalle Co. for a short road trip. Straight shot west on 80 and you are in some good public areas!

I think I know where you are talking about. Goose Lake? I heard they cut down a bunch of timber out there last year which changed things up a bit. Here is my pic from last year. I know it doesn't have horns but I was very excited being my first kill. Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Erik
Welcome to the site. Mokena is'nt to bad for deer. I hunt in Lasalle county and there are plenty. You should check out catlin park and starve rock for the public hunts they have
I do most of my hunting at Starved Rock and Midewin. Michael- You hunt public or private in LaSalle mostly? Should meet up on one of my trips down. I drove through Starved Rock sunday evening and filmed a ton of deer in all the bean fields!
Welcome Erik! Believe it or not there have been some monsters taken in will county. I have seen and heard of big bucks taken on farms all over where you would have never imagined them being taken. Good luck!
