Hope you have better luck than I did. Missed an 8 point tonight. I've never practiced a 7 yard straight down shot before, but I have a reason to now. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
It happens. Atleast I shoot a whisker biscuit so had a chance to try. It was straight down the damn tree, had my boot hooked on a branch so I could lean over the edge of the stand. I would have waited till he got out a little but a couple doe's winded me and started blowing, he was about to bolt so I figured what the hell. I couldn't sleep last night! ...lol I'm sitting here listening to the winds just howl. Before dark it looked like Celery stalks in a blender. Why am I not surprised.... I've taken 2 both about 3 yrds. A 8 pt. And a mercy kill on a button. He had an infection from under his chin to his breast bigger than a basketball, blk ooz coming from the other end. NASTY!! smelled like a week old carcass on the hoof. It's a tricky shot to take. Hope you get another shot soon.
The last aoudad I shot had an infected hind quarter from a bullet, couldn't save the meat. Couldn't tell he sick at 300 yards but I was glad I put him out of his misery. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Sitting here listening to 40 mins of non stop calling and gobbling from a crazed jake. Was hoping he'd have deer calm enough to come in. Nope but finally sounds like he's coming to the plot so I can see him. Watched doe and fawns cross our driveway from the clover field next door. Down wind of me over here across the street..lol. well he just launched off ridge to meet other birds. Lots of critters no deer. Sky's are about to open up.
I don't know who is. I'll second that vote for you though. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
