Anyone going to be changing/upgrading any equipment going into the 19'-20' season? If so, what are you going to be doing?

    • New bow?
    • New arrows?
    • New broadhead
    • New sight?
    • Something else?

The only thing I am planning on changing are my arrows. I am currently shooting the 300 spine GT velocity XT arrows, but I am wanting to change to the new GT Airstrike's.

I tried hang and hunt with a "mobile" tree stand this past season after my climber was stolen two seasons ago. It was okay, but I got tired carrying all that weight in and out with me every time. The stand and sticks were heavier then the climber I had. I am looking to getting into saddle hunting for next year. I am building a DIY platform and will be purchasing a saddle in the next few weeks.

I have always wanted to try saddle hunting, not sure this will be the year, but following a lot of forums to see what is best. I have gone very mobile the last couple of years. And being in NC the weather is warm, so I try to go as light at possible. This past year challenged my self to get a deer from the ground...no treestand. I figure this is as light as it can get. I was successful and really learned about blending in. This year I will do the same and add a ghillie to my gear. Good luck!

Keep us posted with some pics of the saddle set up! I have always been curious on doing this style of hunting. Do you know anyone that hunts out of a tree saddle?

Switched back to a Prime bow, changing my single pin hogg father to a lighter 3 pin MBG slider, changing A LOT as far as my elk hunting system (sleeping bag, water purification, bag setup, optics, tripod, boots, shelter, stove, food)

Went and picked up an Oneida Phoenix yesterday. I've been using the same bow for 10 years. It was time for something different and it's also a lot of fun to shoot. Also got a dozen new trail cams, a M7 microlite and a set of muddy pro sticks.

28.5" draw set at 70lbs....I have no idea what the speed is on it, it's super smooth and shoots really well though.

Picked a new but leftover RealmX. Also just picked up some leftover UA cold weather Camo. Also adding a feeding hen to the flock of turkey deeks. Get to use the decoy and bow end of next month but have to wait a year to try out the cold weather gear. Looking to add another hang on soon. Great time of year for gear. Hate the wait to use it!

Thought about getting a new bow, looked at the new PSE carbon. Instead I'm sticking with my X-Force but I am getting a new sight, a Black Gold Ascent Verdict. New stabilizer and I'm shopping new arrows. I figure I will get a new bow next year but am going to offset the cost by getting all new accessories this year. Keeping my broadheads the same, Carbon Express XT4's. And if I am lucky enough to get a good hailstorm this year i am going to buy two new Lone Wolf stands. Nothing wrong with my old ones, just want more options without having to hassle with it.

Almost forgot, I am changing back to the old tried and true simplistic Alpine Whisperflite rest. Done with the Axiom, too problematic for the field.

I found out that a guy who helped me with my master’s degree research project has one that I am looking at buying.

Bought a saddle a couple months ago and waiting for it to arrive. Also purchased a new pack that’ll help me streamline that setup. I’m still looking for a recurve as I’d like to try that this year. Just gotta spread out the spending!

I've got a Mathews Traverse on order, Stone Riser with Elevated Limbs... That's my big one - not sure how much I'll change/add beyond that....

I'm starting my new adventure into saddle hunting. I am going with a sit drag modification just in case this old frame of mine isn't as spry as my mind..lol. To be portable on the cheap, climbing sticks are EXSPENSIVE, I just got a millennium 20' stick ladder. 3 sections will get me 12 feet and weighs 10.4 #'s this with a couple of pocket steps will get me were I want to be. A nice set. My saddle mod. Stuff arrives Friday. This is a really exciting new adventure for me, hoping it works out.

I just bought all new equipment in 2018 so I should be good for a couple of seasons. My Triax is the best shooting bow I have ever had. What a difference from my Bear Arena30...which was a top of the line Bear at the time. 1553104420046.jpeg
