First off it will not be public land. It will state trust land. Big difference. Its also has income mandates attached to it. I woudl really like to see multiple use stipulations written into law on a purchase like this, protecting access ect. The whole thing has a lot of uncertainty and unanswered questions. However, it still maybe a better alternative then it being bought up by the like of the wilkes brothers and ted turner. I will take my chances with WY way before those slim bags
Unfortunately, state land use laws very from state to state. I do not think Wyoming allows hunting on its state-owned parcels of land. It would great if they did though.
Almost all WY state land is open for hunting. However only about 1/4 of the total state land is managed by wy F&G. That isnt the case in some other states, like Co for example who leases a lot of state land to private entitys and in turn can deny acess.
