Well since I have to work Father's day, and my wife is worse than a little kid at Christmas, she felt like she had to give me my Father's day gift early. For those of you who have read the book; The Five Love Languages, you can guess which one is hers. Over our 40yr marriage she has embarrassed me with the expensive gifts she has given me. Of course I'm not embarrassed enough to give any of them back. Can't wait to get this thing in the field. Blessings.........Pastorjim Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
Man that's nice lol I wouldn't take them back either. A "you shouldn't have" would definitely be warranted. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Anytime I did pre-marriage counseling I always insisted the couple read that book before the wedding. Blessings..........Pastorjim
Well I tell ya we didn't get it till almost 2nd year marriage. Will have Been married 3 years July 5th. Just read a bit every night before bed. Just spending that time with her is her love language. I know to some it sound silly but I'm a beef and dairy farmer. This farm takes so much of my time. My dad has been married 3-4 times mom been married 5 times. This is my first and while my job is demanding I do not want to end up like them so I do my best, yes at times I fall Short of that but none of us are perfect. Yet I try to do my part when I'm able to. The small things like that reading before bed have really helped us learn a lot about each other and makes us stronger as a couple really.
So it seems your wife's love language is quality time. Remember, in the book it says part of the challenge is learning to speak your partner's love language. So it will have to be intentional on your part to do that "quality time." Best of luck to you both. It sounds like you're starting out on the right foot.
