New WI DNR map shows 1.1 million private acres open to public.

    Honestly, a lot of these lands are vacant with no one living on them. Its families or timber companies that don't live in the area and are just looking to get a tax break on the land. These people really don't care what's going on there because they have no real vested interest in it except its a real estate asset.

    If someone lived on the land, I would talk to them. If no one is living there, have at it, but be respectful.
