I hope everyone is happy with the outcome of the 2010 season, and getting ready to start shed hunting in 2011. Of all the seasons I’ve had, this has been one of the most challenging of my life! With some tough hunting conditions I was still able to get onto a giant here in Iowa. The story of this buck is so complicated that all we could do is show you. The story of a buck named “Johnny Rotten” will be one of the most memorable for myself, and what can I say; if they walked in and let you shoot them at 10 yards broadside every time it wouldn’t be the sport we all know and love so much. Check out part 1 of “The Ghost of Johnny Rotten”; now playing on www.whitetailsinc.com Happy new year everyone!
I clicked the link, had no idea I would be up til 1:30 in the morning watching ALL the episodes! It's very refreshing to see videos that go beyond showing kill shot, instead focusing on strategy, mind set and the work that goes into it. When you spoke of finding the heaviest cover and hanging a set on the downwind side, my mind went into rewind on past buck sightings. It seems to me you are on to something there. Well, thanks again for the great videos and I look forward to more!
Thanks very much guys! Hey, I can't take credit for learning all this stuff on my own. I've hunted with some really good hunters in the past and also have been luck enough to spend something like 200+ days in the field / year for 5 or 6 years now, and hunted 17 years before that. So, with experience in the field, you start seeing the habits / prefered pattern of big mature deer! This stuff is applicable anywhere in the country, it just means more work from the hunter in most cases! Thanks very much for watching. We'll have the second part of that episode up next week. It is pretty cool!
