Its a scar he had. He actually had several but that one is the most noticeable. I would guess it is either from fighting or from a fence. I always use the original cape regardless of how worn and torn, just a preference of mine. I kind of like the character is gives them.

    Thanks

The guy I use is a little more expensive but his turn-around is always 2 - 4 months and he does a great job in my opinion. I just dont have the patience to save $100 and wait over a year. He is a grain farmer so once his crops are all harvested in the Fall he does taxi full-time and has a son that helps. He had a couple of neat grizzly rugs drying when I picked my deer up a couple of nights ago. He had already done a bunch of pronghorns, caribou, mulies, bear and elk before he even started on the deer. He now has over 80 deer to do.

That is a beautiful mount fletch!!! I'm getting the exact same mount and I have a feeling it's by the same guy. I hope so! If Rick did your buck I'm going to be very happy! :woot:

Rick did not do mine, but if you are talking about Rick Whitaker in Knoxville area I'm sure you wont be disappointed. I have been to his shop and he does great work. Hoch's taxidermy near Melcher did mine.

    Thanks

Yes, Rick Whitaker is the guy I have. I hope he dose as good a job as Hoch's did. A friend dropped mine off so I haven't seen Ricks shop, but I have seen some of his work. After seeing your mount I'm really getting pumped. :) Again, that is a saweeeet mount.

Rick will do a great job. He has a nice shop and has done some mounts for a friend of mine. I believe he also did the Louvsten buck a few years ago. Cant be all bad if he got to mount a worlds record. lol
