Well guys I took all your advice and purchased my first recurve! I bought the Martin x-200. Its 60in and 50#. I think it will be a good starter bow...what do you guys think?
When I got home I looked the x-200 up online just for fun and they go for $495.99 on martinarchery.com and on basspro.com they go for $459.99. I paid $275.00, it was miss marked by mistake. The x-150 goes for $299.99 and I think thats where the mistake was made. The bow shop must have looked at the wrong models price. I kinda feel bad but what can I do?
Im excited to get out there and shoot, Ill keep you updated on how my attempt to become a traditional archer goes!!
    Thanks again!

Well you could go back and ask them if it was a mistake....LOL

Good luck with it. The X-200s are great shooting bows.

As a rule of thumb you will lose an inch to an inch and a half going from compound to trad.

So she should right around 45lb at 26.5"

    That's a beautiful bow. Congrats.

    If it's any consolation....

I agree with Kanga on losing DL, initially. BUT....I've seen (in myself and others) your DL creep to close (or even the same as it was with the compound) as you progress. 3yrs in....and I'm only drawing 1/4" shorter than I did with my compounds (and longer than I did with some of them). I shot a few compound models at 28". Some at 28.5". A couple at 29". I now draw 28-3/4" with my recurve.

Congrats again....and good luck to you. These guys in this forum are a wealth of knowledge. Use them!
