Looks really interesting. What's the price point and where will they be available to buy? Also best of luck with this adventure.

    Matt,
Thanks for chiming in I was the one that tagged your post with the forum link since I felt maybe someone from the company should be in here answering questions. Again thank you for clearing it up a little and look forward to seeing what your camera has to offer.

Do you have any specs on the camera yet?

Maybe I missed it but is there a specification area? Distance of the flash? Trigger Speed? Does it have a plot watcher setting? Do you have sample pictures you can share?

    Hey again everybody!

So to answer as many questions as I can:

-Our base camera which launches in late June is $225. We will have pretty big pre-order discounts coming in the next several weeks, but that will be retail price after the camera starts shipping.

-The cam will be for sale on our website and amazon.com. We are talking to a few other distributors, but with what we're trying to do it's unlikely that you'll see us in big box retailers this year or next. We just won't be able to give them the margins they typically look for.

-We're finalizing the camera setup as we speak. We've got the hardware rig put together and it's about to hit the mass production phase, we are still playing with a few software settings though to ensure we put out the best camera for all situations. Somebody had mentioned there is still a lot of gray area on specs and this is the reason why. I will release what I can for now, but we won't be able to release everything until we finalize these settings in the next week or two.

    12MP
    50 degree FOV
    .9 second trigger
Still perfecting, but should end up around 60' flash range
    Photo/Video/TimeLapse modes
Time Lapse and Motion Trigger Hybrid Mode
    Up to 4 photo burst
Fully customizable delay (5 seconds - 10 minutes)
720P Video and fully customizable video length
We're averaging 20K images on a set of 8 lithium AAs.

We're also considering releasing a white flash or red flash alternative if it gets enough interest.

Let me know if you guys have any other questions

Thanks for all the well wishes so far!

    Matt

What's the best way to add photos on this site? Photobucket?

In the meantime, there are some pics on our Facebook page Facebook slash exodusoutdoorgear

I find photobucket the easiest way to post nice pics on the site.

I like black flash, most of my cams now are blackflash but they don't typically take the best night pics. I would definitely consider releasing at least an IR version if I were in the business. I still run my old M-880 IR's and they still do a nice job, I just have to run blackflashs in sensitive areas near property lines etc...otherwise I prefer the IR's.

White flashes are interesting, I like having color in night pics but I was a big fan of IR years ago when it afforded me to get away from the bright flashes at night, don't know that I'd ever go back to it personally.

Good luck with the business, I wish you all the best of luck and I think you'll do well.

Photobucket is the best way to go on picture hosting. That way the pictures show up in threads larger size and you would be able to mass post them so easily. Great to see you out working hard to promote your company Matt.

    Hopefully this works:

I'll post you guys some night photos in the next week, our test units we've been using have too many IR lamps and it's caused a really long range black flash... But anything within 10' is too bright. We've adjusted our final test units to about 2/3s the amount of IR lamps and also adjusted some of the light sensitivity settings to correct. Here's a shot of our old test units, but the ones I post in the next week will be a lot better quality and will show you guys what the final production units will look like.

The day time pics look great Matt! Glad to see you providing answers to the many questions people have on these forums and Facebook too. Any thought to having different flash ranges to accomplish either long distance flash or up close situations? The Covert cameras I have now do that and it's nice to have that extended range when watching field edges or trails in the distance and then be able to adjust to less flash over say a mineral site.

Thanks Chuck! We were actually just talking about that. It's something we're really interested in doing for our next model. Let me ask you this, is that setting available on a black flash camera? And do you notice if pictures get grainy on the highest setting?

Hey Willey, it looks out of focus because of all the grain which will be taken care of in our setting changes being made this week. I'll have some better night photos that'll represent what the retail camera can do in about a week.

I don't have any black flash cameras yet, just the regular IR and in general I am speaking about Covert Red 40's. The thing I've noticed with the one's I have is that up close deer can get a little washed out from time to time with too much light. There is a good balance though.

Hey everybody, hope all is well! Wanted to reach out and say thanks to anybody who pre-ordered our cams, the first run of pre-orders went better than we expected and we sold out on the first batch in about 3 days. We are taking more 20% off pre-orders now. I wanted to post a few more photos to show you guys our night time pics since we finalized our settings/configuration for production:
