WTF??? Do they go by the length?? I mean the box to ship the bow is heavier than the bow itself! That SUCKS brother! Its time to look for a 2 or 3 piece takedown Longbow aye?

I think so , you got any idea's Fella's . I've been scanning the classifieds on Tradgang , but don't know good from bad .
My friend in England has a Miami Valley take down , this is how he described it :-
She's 56" & draws 54#@28" (Around 51-52#@27") It's black glass on the belly, clear glass over 'dirty' stained bamboo on the back. Tri-cored Bamboo limbs & a cocobolo actionwood riser. It's fitted with the Bowbolt T/D system (The best there is for a 2-piece in my opinion) & a rubber grip (Easy to remove if you don't like it)
It's got a 12 strand D97 flemish string fitted with wool silencers.
Throws a 660gn Beeman MFX at about 160fps & hits like a freight train!
    Its not a longbow though
I've also been watching this Bear Grizzly http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280318234391&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123 .
    Tell me what ya think

Cheers Dan , i'm sure i will have fun . Just gotta get my head around which bow to go for .
What do you think of this :- http://www.bowtecbows.com/index.php?p=fb3 . take a look at this guys site , custom made for £200 and they are in England too . They get awesome reviews and hold their money real well .
I am left with a dilema , Miami Valley or Bowtec Mistral or the Thunderbolt . Its between these three bows now . I'm more toward the Mistral or Thunderbolt as its custom made Let me know your thought on length of bow , draw poundage . I was thinkin 64" and 50#@28" .

Ok , you twisted my arm .

Three words :- Kanga Take-down bow

You had best keep your eye out soon for a new post , cause after much debating over which bow to have we now have a winner . My good fellow Russ ( Kanga ) is making me a takedown bow and he's gonna be posting the build-a-long on this forum , before he's even started i know this is gonna be one serious piece of kit that he's going to make . I have to thank Joe for the idea and the hole in my Wallet , because i was having so much trouble getting a bow imported to England . Packages over 60" are $200 to ship over , So who better to sort that problem than Russ . We will speak over the weekend and get the final specs sorted , but you are in for a surprise when you see it finished trust me . Now all i have to do is more overtime . I'm so pumped about this , i've been thinking about it all day .

You can wait Joe :d and when i know the spec of the bow , then i can order the arrows . I'll find out off Russ , what spine and length to order first . If we told you the specs now , it would dampen your appetite to know more . :woot:

Kit :- forgive my English slang :hail: . what i meant was , one serious takedown Bow :tu: .

Me too , but i know Russ will look after me and its a bow i'm gonna keep forever and be really proud of .
I've had a look at a couple of websites to see different of woods , so i have some understanding what Russ is talking about at the weekend . I have a good idea of the limbs and riser woods , but thats all i'm sayin .
I know what a brace height is
I don't know what stacking is
I think i will shoot split , as i've heard it suits instictive shooting better .
The rest i will learn form these wonderful guys ;) .
