I use to have a GSP. But got rid of him. That was stupid. My dad still has one. They are great dogs. Great hunters and even better pets. We are suppose to go pick our pup up this coming Saturday if everything goes as planned. Do you take yours hunting?

Congrats! I have a Mossberg Silver Reserve O/U 28" ported. Great shotgun. Only use mine for clays though as I use my 870 for hunting. Don't want to get the Mossberg all messed up.

Yeah, I take mine hunting. He actually picked things up pretty fast, for being "trained" by me. We just don't have enough pheasants around here to really train him. I did take him to western Kansas this fall, and he pointed his first rooster. I felt like my son had accomplished something  Its really fun to just watch him work and figure things out.

Good luck with your new dog :tu:

I have several guns for duck hunting 2 870's benelli nova and a super black eagle two. This year I have decided I'm going to just take the O/U (on nice days with no rain) and mostly call. I have finally gotten good at calling an being able to work birds. Yesterday I killed five with my O/U and that was after I let my buddy and his dad shoot.

I remember went we first brought my new pup home. He was seven weeks old running though the house dad put out a quail wing and he just stopped and pointed. He didn't know why he was doing it but he knew he was suppose to lol. Thanks on the good luck.
