Hey all, I am a big fan of this site and am new to the forums. I wanted to share a picture of the buck that I harvested in Missouri with my bow on 12/5. Good luck in the late season everyone!
Congrats! What county did you take him in? What kind of activity are you seeing? I'm heading down to Phelps County tonight to hunt all day tomorrow. It's going to be hot so I'm not too sure how it will go.
Oh yea. We will give you a pass cause you're new. But it is considered highly offensive and very rude to post a recent kill pic and no story to go with..... jjk ..........but no, seriously, details?
Thanks for the welcome gents! Shocker - I am glad to share the story with you. I harvested him last Saturday morning (12/5). I was in between which stands I wanted to hunt. Luckily, I chose the stand that was best for a south wind. I didn't see a single deer all morning and actually bumped some bedded does on my way in. One of the old does was blowing at me after I bumped her and I was sure my hunt was ruined. Around 8:15 a.m I happened to look over my shoulder and I saw the massive (145 gross - 142 net) 8pt standing 25 yards away from me feeding his way through some timber. He walked through my narrow shooting lane at 25 yards and I stopped him and then slipped a Rage right where it counts! He ran about 100 yards - crossed a fence and I watched him go down in a field. The rest is history! Side note - I had no idea he was as big as he was until I walked up on him because it all happened so fast. Reverse ground shrinkage...
