Hey everyone this is my first post on this site, but I've found it very informative from what I've read so far. I shot my first deer a few days ago with a bow, and it was a pretty amazing experience, and now I'd like to get into bow hunting. I was wondering if I could get any input on what it takes to bow hunt and what kind of bow is good for hunting hogs and deer? The main thing i want to know is what's the best bow to begin with. Thanks for all the input.
It was a friend's compound bow, he said that it was an older bow, but I never thought to ask what kind it was, I'll try to find out what kind it was though..
Welcome to the site. Any bow will get the job done it just depends on what you can afford and what feels comfortable too you. All bows these days will get it done. Go shoot a few and pick what you want. You're the one shooting it. Dont let the hype of certain brands drag you down. Also get yourself measured for your draw length and dont settle for a bow with the wrong draw length just because it was a good deal. To many people get frustrated and give up because of this.
Welcome! Get acquainted with your local pro shop and shoot a lot of bows and find the one that is comfortable for you.
