Hey all, I am a newbie to the forums. I actually started watching bow hunt or die a couple of months ago and went back to watch all of the episodes from every season. I finally got caught up last week. Love the show! I hunt in northern Wisconsin and I am finding it tough going this year. Trail cams only picked up 4 small bucks this year. Last year between August 20th and Sept 13th I had 16 different bucks on camera and 4 of them were shooters. Because of the lack of deer I am seeing, I pulled the trigger on a year and a half old 6 pointer. I wasn't going to shoot him because of his age but the longer he sat there broadside, the more I thought about how few deer I was seeing. Anyone else having a tough go of it this year?

Friend of mine was out with the kids for the youth hunt last weekend, he did not see a deer. This was in Northern Wisconsin

It's crazy! I don't know what happened. I am hoping they will start moving through my land soon. I don't have a lot of cover so I don't hold big bucks. They do pass through though from bedding areas to food sources. We shall see....only time will tell.

It has been a perfect storm in NW a combination of the DNR issuing too many doe tags, hunters filling too many doe tags, too many wolves, and a couple bad winters. I am not longer concerned driving northern Wisconsin and Minnesota at night, I used to always worry about smacking a deer with the truck.
