Hello there! Just signed up for the forum and excited to get to know the community. A little about myself: I did most of my growing up in Florida, but moved here to Wisconsin almost 4 years ago. This summer one of my fishing buddy's got me hooked on hunting when I went and set stands. Being a central Wisconsin, allot my friends bow hunt and I was fortune enough to have one of them give me there "old" bow. He recent bough a Hoyt Spyder and gave me his V-Tech!! I tried to give him something for it but said he wasn't after any money... just loved seeing new comers into the sport! I got into the season a little late (opened September 15th here and didn't get in the woods until the 28th). The area I hunt is owned by my boss (dairy farmer), who's his son is one of my good friends and an avid hunter. The boss wont let me hunt the "good land" where they know some bigger bucks are, so they've got on an area they haven't hunted in a while. In 4 days of hunting I've seen 23 does to just one buck. I harvested my first white tail this past Tuesday and am looking for a bucks now. I'd like to wait for the rut to shoot him, but if I get a shot at one before hand I'll take it! Tomorrow I'm setting up another stand in hopes of seeing some bucks! Sam,
Welcome. As for land that hasn't been hunted in awhile. It could hold some good bucks. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk 2
Welcome to the site! btw-sounds like you got yourself a good spot to hunt come time for the rut...those big bucks are going to be going where the does are then - I hunt a few stands where all I get on cam or while sitting in the early season are does, but for the month of November there is no better place for a chance to see the good bucks during the daytime. Set your new stand up where it's watching a good travel route with cover that the bucks may use when searching for the next hot doe.
