Hello all. I have lurked around the site for about a month or so and love the information and the general sense of community I see. Everyone seems willing to help, share or even scold sometimes, but I dug it so much that I joined. I was lucky enough to get on a lease soon after moving back to Missouri after 13 years and have been trying to figure the place out. It is MUCH different from the hills of NC, but better bucks! Anyhoo. I look forward to the season. Bow hunt or die!

What's wrong with letting the inmates run the asylum?

I am probably close to you. I am in Pleasant Hill. I really like it, especially the hunting/fishing here. Public land here is well maintained for hunters, a welcome change.

I am not! It is hard being a Tarheel and Panthers fan in MU/KU/Chiefs country.

I would imagine very close. So are we.
My wife and I are both from Grandview. I've lived in P.Hill for 15 years.

Small world! My Fiancee and I moved here back in June but just bought our house Sept. 2nd. Perhaps we can meet up and talk shop (Bow hunting). All my buddies are duck hunters trying to convert me. Ha! No chance. I'll go, but not if it takes me out of a bow stand. I'll PM you my cell if that's cool.

I understand. I think I was the only KU fan living in Grain Valley, MO. If you get a chance and haven't done so yet, go check out Smithville Lake public hunting. I used to see deer every time I went, but I made a mistake and bought a climber, so I could never find a tree to set up in. I lost a few arrows there but I did kill a doe once. Used to be low pressure there in the early 2000's. I still goose hunt outside of pleasant hill. I have a few farm pounds I'm allowed on. Killed a ton of geese over there.

Deep water has some great hunting, but it can get very crowded. There's a lake east of The city near Sedalia it has hunting access and I never saw a bow hunter there. But I never saw a deer either. I only waterfowled hunted and fished the surrounding ponds. I right off i70 about exit 48 or something. Might be worth checking out. My company is based out of Lee Summit and my Brother lives in Bonner Springs KS. Most of my friends live in KC areas
