Bowtech has a awesome military discount, as well as carbon express. Im deployed as well and been posting all the military discount's I find for us. I know ya want a mathew's but bowtech can get you everything you need for 550, including arrow's release and a better rak package then they offer civilians. Carbon express is pretty much 50 percent off up to 2 dozen arrows a year, and 2 accessories a year like packs of lighted knock's, broadhead's and everything. If you are interested let me know and ill send you the info for both.

But for gear (not gona bring up camo/boots/and all that all big name brand's are fine) I would get a range finder, tree stand/blind, I bought a nap apache rest (nap offers a discount but its not to great, got the info for that one too), a detachable quiver, release because finger's on a compound bow takes a lot of practice, for sight im going to try out what bowtech is sending me but i know the hha i believe they are called are big 1 pin sight's around here. Maybe some trail cam's if you plan on scouting a big area, (go to promotive.com and sign up for the military group they got there, tons of good discount's). Every one has dif. opinion's on broadhead's let it be fixed or expandable, decide what you want to shoot and go from there. Rage's are hit or miss people love them or hate them, But the people that hate them I think are blaming bad shot placement on there performance. The guys that have good shot placement LOVE THEM, iv seen some pic's of blood trail's they just look nasty. 2 blade version is getting amazing reviews. If you go for game call's there are plenty of dealer's to choose from, check out amazon or bass pro they got vary good prices. Anything else you got questions about just ask ill try and help there are some other people that will chime in soon to help answer your questions as well. Good luck and get home safe, I know I sure as hell cant wait to get out of this country and back home.

yea i heard about the bowtech discount. im going the mathews route because deployed soldiers can get the reezen which is normally like 865 for 465 with their down force arrow rest thru their local dealer. also even though im new at this i want to set things up with the equipment i want to get. again i know i am a newb, but im using this time here to do my research and check out my options before i buy anything. i am definitely interested in the info for carbon express though that would be great if you could send that to me. stay safe brother.
