I have Never bow hunted before. But I currently Have what some would call "Buck Fever". I recently got an * pointer for my first buck. But anyways enough babbling. Can some one offer me a few pointers , I will be hunting northern Wiscosin. My main question is this, A friend offered me a HOYT STRIKER for 30.00 is this a good bow for starters.

    My best advice:

Find a bow that feels good to you. Don't just shoot one- shoot several. Choose the one that feels best then get arrows that are properly spined. A good pro shop should be able to set you up and explain why they are giving you that set up. Once you get set up, shoot, shoot, shoot, and shoot some more.
